October 14, 2002 -- Mayor Bloomberg is a hypocrite who should be focusing on the city's real problems instead of harassing smokers (" 'Murderers' row," Oct. 10). Last time I looked, cigarettes were legal and providing billions in tax dollars to the government.

What gets me about this loser is that, while bashing smokers is what he sees the number one priority for his administration, he never talked about the issue when he was running for Mayor. Guess he needed the votes from those smokers to win the race.

Bloomberg's late, unlamented opponent, Mark Green, was even more insufferable. Think of Ralph Nader getting elected mayor and you won't be far off.
But Bloomberg is only a little better than Green. He makes Ed Koch look like a conservative.
